The Decompression Support Diver Instructor rating qualifies you to teach the Decompression Support Diver specialty diver course to your own students, covering planning and executing decompression support dives, including safely delivering gas to divers mid-dive. It's a focused, practical program built around how to run the course confidently — dry-land presentations, confined and open water session structure, and evaluating student performance.
Working with me as your Course Director, you'll go through the specialty from an instructor's perspective, then practice presenting and running sessions the way you'll actually teach them to students. It's a fast, focused addition to your teaching credentials — and it counts directly toward Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) status.
How to teach planning and executing decompression support dives, including safely delivering gas to divers mid-dive, including structuring knowledge development, running confined and open water sessions, and evaluating student mastery of the skills.
PADI Divemaster or higher (teaching-status instructors qualify directly), with the corresponding specialty diver certification or equivalent experience.
Specialty Instructor training materials, mentorship through your first teaching sessions, and your Specialty Instructor certification — which counts toward MSDT.
