Enriched air (nitrox) has less nitrogen than regular air, which means longer no-decompression limits and shorter surface intervals — more time in the water, especially on repetitive dive days. It's easy to see why this is consistently the most popular specialty PADI offers.
The course itself is short — a few hours of eLearning covering oxygen exposure management, tank analysis, and dive computer setup for enriched air. Some divers add two open water dives using nitrox as part of the certification; either way, once you're certified, it's a lifetime skill you'll use on nearly every trip.
How to analyze a tank's oxygen content, manage oxygen exposure limits, set a dive computer for enriched air, and plan dives that take full advantage of extended no-decompression time.
Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) required. Minimum age 12.
Enriched Air eLearning, tank analysis practice, optional open water dives, and your Enriched Air Diver certification.
