Open Water Diver

Open Water Diver Certification

4 Open Water Dives

4–7 Days

Your First Real Certification

PADI Open Water Diver is the certification that lets you dive independently, anywhere in the world, for the rest of your life. It's the world's most popular scuba course for good reason — flexible, well-paced, and built around genuinely useful skills rather than memorization. Most of the academic side happens through PADI eLearning before we even get in the water, so our time together focuses on what actually matters: diving.

How the Course Comes Together

There are three parts: knowledge development (5–10 hours of eLearning you can do on your own schedule), confined water dives to build core skills, and four open water dives where you put it all together in the real ocean. You'll need to be comfortable in the water — able to float or tread water for 10 minutes and swim 200 metres/yards unaided (or 300m with mask, fins and snorkel) — but you don't need to be an athlete.
