The PADI Scuba Diver certification is essentially the first half of the Open Water Diver course — the first three of five knowledge sections, the first three of five confined water dives, and two of the four open water dives. If you're short on time but want a real certification rather than just a taste, this is the course. It never expires, and it's recognized by dive operators everywhere.
As a certified Scuba Diver, you can rent gear, get air fills, and join guided dives anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet, always under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. You won't be able to dive independently the way an Open Water Diver can, but nothing about the certification expires — you can finish the remaining Open Water requirements whenever you're ready, with any PADI instructor.
You'll cover the first three knowledge sections of the Open Water Diver course — core scuba principles, equipment, and safety — plus three confined water dives to build the fundamental skills every diver needs: breathing, buoyancy, mask and regulator skills, and basic problem management.
Open to anyone 10 years old and up (ages 10–14 earn a Junior Scuba Diver certification). No prior diving experience is required, and you don't need advanced swimming ability — just the ability to swim and reasonably good health.
Full gear rental, tanks and air fills, the knowledge development sessions, three confined water dives, and two open water dives with me as your PADI professional — plus digital certification once you're done.
