Tec 40 is where recreational diving ends and technical diving genuinely begins — the first level of the full TecRec sequence, bridging no-stop diving and full technical decompression diving. You'll qualify for limited decompression dives to 40 metres, using doubles or sidemount configuration for the first time in a certification course.
Across three classroom sessions, three practical application sessions, and four open water dives, you'll build the gas planning, team procedures, and decompression theory that every deeper tec course assumes you already have. An optional Tec 40 Trimix pathway is also available if you want to start working with helium mixes early.
Decompression theory and dive planning, gas management with doubles or sidemount, technical team procedures, and emergency skills specific to decompression diving.
Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver specialty, and Enriched Air Diver certifications, at least 30 logged dives, and a medical clearance. Minimum age 18.
